Earlier this week, Verizon Select Communications presented a $1,000 check to Central Church of Carroll for the construction and maintenance of a new dog park on the east side of town. The telecommunications company tracked how many phone cases were purchased at their store during the month of June and donated $5 to the project for each one that was sold. “We are always looking for ways to invest in people and ideas around the community. The dog park is such a cool project that will give dogs and their owners a place to run around this summer and for many summers to come,” says Verizon Location Director, Tyler McCaleb. “Helping raise funds for a project that will positively impact the city of Carroll was an easy decision. We can’t wait for the final results!” The Central Bark Dog Park will be located on the east side of the church’s property on Highway 30 and is expected to open sometime in August. When completed, the fenced-in area will allow for dog owners to let their canine companions off of the leash to roam. The park will have agility equipment and watering stations for the animals and benches for people to relax on while their pets play. Currently, there are no plans to charge for admission at Central Bark, however, the church is suggesting a $25 free-will annual donation to support the park.
