Carroll Man Arrested In Storm Lake Fight When It Crashed Through Neighboring Apartment Door

A fight that traveled from one apartment and then right through the door of a neighboring one in Storm Lake Sunday resulted in the arrest of a Carroll man. The Storm Lake Police Department responded to the report of a fight in progress at approximately 4:31 a.m. and on arrival, observed and separated two men. An adult and a juvenile female were also detained at the scene. Witnesses told authorities that 18-year-old Boumkouth Lol of Carroll, 21-year-old Rebecca Yalle of Storm Lake and a 15-year-old female from Sioux City came to the apartment early that morning and allegedly forced entry to commit a home invasion in search of property. While inside, Yalle and the juvenile allegedly assaulted an occupant. Lol also reportedly confronted a male resident, who defended himself and fought back. He was able to force Lol into the hallway, at which time they crashed through the door of another apartment, where officers located the two still fighting. Police allege Lol was armed with a 9mm semi-automatic handgun, which he dropped, but did not display during the incident. The young female retrieved the weapon but was disarmed by police when she was taken into custody. Lol has been charged with first-degree burglary, a class B felony, assault while participating in a felony, a class D felony, carrying weapons, an aggravated misdemeanor, and disorderly conduct, a simple misdemeanor. He was booked into the Buena Vista County jail on a $32,300 bond. Yalle was charged with second-degree burglary, a class C felony, and assault while participating in a felony. She was held on a $15,000 bond. The juvenile female was charged with second-degree burglary and assault while participating in a felony. She was processed and transported to the Youth Detention Facility in Cherokee.
