Charges Pending In One Of Three Greene County Accidents Over The Weekend

The Greene County Sheriff’s Office responded to three accidents over the course of the weekend. The first occurred at approximately 4:55 p.m. Friday, July 26 when Keaton Mosher, 32, of Callendar had left his truck in neutral and it rolled down an incline and into Spring Lake. There was no damage to the vehicle. The second report came in at about 9:12 p.m. Friday when 59-year-old Terri Ross of Grand Junction struck a deer southeast of Grand Junction. No injuries were reported, but there was an estimated $3,000 in damage to the 2015 Ford Edge.  And at approximately 7:31 p.m. on Sunday, July 28 a deputy responded to a two-vehicle accident on Highway 30 near Forest Avenue, northeast of Scranton. Forty-one-year-old Warren Hass of Denison was traveling eastbound in a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado when he was rear ended by a 2008 Volkswagen Beetle, driven by 61-year-old Sheral Coppick of Carroll. Coppick and a passenger in the Hass truck were both transported to the Greene County Medical Center by Greene County Emergency Medical Services for treatment of suspected minor injuries. There was an estimated $3,000 in damage to the Silverado and $6,000 in damage to the Volkswagen. The accident remains under investigation and Coppick may be facing charges. The Iowa State Patrol assisted at the scene.
