Iowa’s annual sales tax holiday begins tomorrow (Friday) and continues into the weekend. Starting at 12:01 a.m. on Aug. 2 through 11:59 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, all general clothing and footwear items priced below $100 will be exempt from state sales tax, including local option sales tax. Businesses that are open during this period are required to participate in the sales tax holiday. There are some restrictions on what is considered “clothing,” including: watches, jewelry and certain sporting equipment.
