With A Little Over A Week Left In The Summer Break, Students, Families And Staff Prepare For The 2019-20 School Year At Paton-Churdan

The summer break is coming to an end in just over a week for families within the Paton-Churdan Community School District. Students and teachers officially begin the school year on Friday, Aug. 23. Superintendent, Kreg Lensch, says the district was fortunate in that they only needed to hire two new staff members for the 2019-20 school year.

Lensch adds their building and grounds team has been working throughout the summer to complete a few projects that are difficult to work on while the school is occupied.

According to Lensch, the biggest change for students and families in the upcoming year will be a switch to a new student information system. In the past, the district had contracted with JMC Inc. but will be transitioning to Infinite Campus.

Lensch also serves as superintendent at the Glidden-Ralston Community School District, and he will be bringing the two staffs together on Wednesday, Aug. 21 for a special professional development seminar.

Lensch encourages all of the students to get plenty of rest in the days leading up to the start of the school year, so they can come to class with a sense of excitement and the energy to learn. Again, the first day of class for Paton-Churdan is Friday, Aug. 23.
