The Carroll Police Department is back to full staff for the first time in years with the addition of a 2014 graduate of the Kuemper Catholic School System, Officer Matt Kennebeck. His family came to Carroll when he was about a year old, and after high school, he attended Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge and participated in their shooting sports program. Kennebeck is working on the more routine aspects of training at this point.

He says it was definitely effective, and agrees with Chief, Brad Burke, that a few seconds after being Tased can feel like an eternity. Kennebeck says he was attracted to the broad range of opportunities available in the law enforcement field, and his long-term interest resulted in his degree in criminal justice. He is also pleased to be able to bring what he has learned back to his home town. In his spare time, Kennebeck likes to be outdoors, trap shooting, hunting, fishing and playing with his new puppy.
