A local telecommunications provider who serves residents in Wall Lake, Lake View, Carnarvon, Auburn and Sac City will be breaking ground next week on a new office building in Wall Lake. The public is invited to join the leaders and staff of Corn Belt Telephone Co., Inc., at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 23 at the building site; 216 W. 1st Street. The new 5,000-square-foot building will also be home to multiple professional, full-time medical service businesses, estimated to create 10 to 15 more local jobs. General Contractor for the project is Jaime Schoneboom with JDS Construction of Wall Lake. Corn Belt Telephone provides local and long distance telephone services, cable television, high speed internet and local advertising and has a gig-certified capable fiber optic network in Wall Lake and Carnarvon as well as an extensive fiber optic system in Lake View.
