Flags Across Iowa To Be Flown At Half-Staff In Honor Of Fallen Deputy

Flags across the state are to be flown at half-staff until sunset tonight (Monday) in honor of Lyon County Sheriff’s Office Deputy, Stephanie Schreurs who died Aug. 13.  Schreurs, who was a 24-year veteran of the department, died as a result of injuries sustained in a vehicle accident while on duty Tuesday, Aug. 9. Flags will be flown at half-staff on the State Capitol Building and in the Capitol Complex as well as on all public buildings, grounds and facilities throughout the state. Individuals, businesses, schools, municipalities, counties and other government subdivisions are encouraged to do the same as a sign of respect.
