Three people were taken into custody in Carroll last weekend following a physical altercation at a local convenience store. According to district court records, officers with the Carroll Police Department were dispatched at approximately 6:05 p.m. Saturday to the Casey’s General Store in the 500 block of U.S. Highway 30 for a report of numerous people fighting. Authorities say the dispute began when 52-year-old Dean Martin Loew of Carroll allegedly directed racially charged language at an African American man. A verbal argument ensued and became physical. Based upon witness and victim statements, Loew, 25-year-old Jordan Dean Loew of Rockwell City and 22-year-old Hollie Danielle Loew of Carroll were arrested and transported to the Carroll County jail. They are charged with disorderly conduct, a simple misdemeanor, and were released after posting a $300 cash bond. Their initial appearances are scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 5. The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
