Audubon Public Library Shares Story Of World War II Through The Eyes Of Curious George

A special presentation that tells a story of World War II through the eyes of one of children’s literature’s most popular characters is coming to Audubon next week. H.A. and Margret Rey created “The Journey that Saved Curious George,” as they escaped Hitler’s advancing army. The book, the history and the Rey’s experience will be shared by Kael Sagheer of the Institute for Holocaust Education in Omaha, Neb. This story also helps explain how George became adored by readers around the world. The event will take place at the Audubon Cultural Center at the Audubon Public Library at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 2.
