The Carroll Chamber of Commerce has announced they are canceling the candidate forum originally scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 9. Program Director, Ashley Schable, says the Chamber’s Legislative Committee has made the call because there are no contenders at the city level this year against the incumbents running: Mayor, Eric P. Jensen; Councilman At-large, LaVern Dirkx; Ward Two Councilwoman, Misty Boes; and Ward Four Councilwoman, Carolyn Siemann. For the first time in Iowa history, school board elections will take place during November’s midterm elections, but Schable says nothing, at this time, has been planned to address that change.
