A $5,000 donation from a local business to the St. Anthony Cancer Center has been matched by two other businesses for a total of $15,000. On Tuesday, St. Anthony Regional Hospital announced a gift from Raccoon Valley Electric Cooperative (RVEC) was matched by CoBank and Basin Electric Power Cooperative. The money will be pooled with other area donations to support the $16.5 million regional cancer center being built on the St. Anthony campus to expand cancer services close to home for western Iowa residents. “Everyone knows someone that has been affected by cancer,” says RVEC CEO, Jim Gossett. “RVEC is proud to contribute to a cancer center close to home so that people receiving treatment do not have to travel long distances for cancer treatment.”
