An Estimated $14,000 In Damage Reported In Two-Vehicle Accident Tuesday Morning In Carroll

Only minor injuries were reported following a two-vehicle accident in Carroll Tuesday morning. According to the Iowa State Patrol, the collision occurred at approximately 11:16 a.m. at the intersection of North Clark and East 7th Streets. A 2019 Hyundai Elantra, driven by 32-year-old Coretta Broadway of Carroll, was traveling eastbound on 7th and failed to stop for a posted stop sign. The Broadway vehicle collided with the rear driver’s side of a northbound 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix, driven by 16-year-old Kayden Paul Kent of Carroll. The Pontiac spun following the crash and came to rest facing south in the northbound lane of Clark Street. Damages are estimated at $9,000 to the Hyundai and $5,000 to the Kent vehicle. Broadway reported minor injuries and was transported to St. Anthony Regional Hospital by Carroll County Emergency Medical Services. Kent and two passengers, one in each vehicle, were uninjured. Broadway was cited for failure to obey a stop sign and yield the right of way. Authorities believe a medical issue contributed to the accident.
