Residents of Sac City and the surrounding communities are invited to the Chautauqua Building tomorrow (Thursday) evening to join the Sac County Pork Producers and Chamber of Commerce in their annual Porktoberfest celebration. According to Chamber President, Lance Wilhelm, attendees will be treated to a free pork burger meal from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. as a thank you to the public for their ongoing support of both organizations. Additionally, Sac County Public Health is scheduled to set up an area during the event where families can get this season’s flu shot, and the Sac City Fire Department will be conducting demonstrations for the kids. Porktoberfest is the Chamber’s second largest event of the year, surpassed only by their Fourth of July celebration. Everyone is encouraged to attend.
