In late August, Wild Rose Casino and Resorts announced they would be partnering with DraftKings as their retail and mobile partner for sports wagering. There will be a special ribbon cutting ceremony and reveal of the new Sportsbook tomorrow (Thursday) in Jefferson to officially kick off the partnership. President and CEO of Wild Rose, Tom Timmons, says they did a thorough investigation of sports technology and entertainment companies. DraftKings was selected because of their track record and ability to reach more fans and customers who love sports. “Sports betting is the most energizing change in Iowa gaming since the slot machine,” Timmons says. “We couldn’t be more excited to be the first Iowa casino company to partner with DraftKings, which we view as the most recognizable name in sports gaming.” Thursday’s ribbon cutting and unveiling of the DraftKings Sportsbook at Wild Rose Casino and Resort in Jefferson will take place at 2 p.m. Executives from both organizations will be present for the ceremony. Wild Rose and DraftKings will have retail sportsbooks in Clinton and Emmetsburg as well.
