Two men refused transport for treatment of minor injuries received in a Monday accident that totaled both cars. The Jefferson Police Department, The Greene County Sheriff’s Office and Greene County Emergency Medical Services all responded to the scene on U.S. Highway 30 and Grimmell Road on the west edge of Jefferson at approximately 6:45 a.m. A 1995 Chevrolet Camaro, driven by Keaton Hetland of Jewell, was westbound on 220th Street and stopped at the intersection with Grimmell Road, waiting for oncoming traffic before turning left. Spencer Kirk of Grand Junction was behind Hetland in a 2014 Ford Taurus, but failed to stop and rear-ended the Camaro. Kirk was cited for failure to stop in assured clear distance ahead.
