Excessive speed is believed to have been a factor in an accident at Swan Lake State Park on Wednesday afternoon. The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office reports they were called to the scene near the east entrance at Noble Avenue at approximately 2:41 p.m. The initial investigation revealed that 18-year-old Kassidy Nicole Wuebker of Carroll was eastbound on the park roadway in a 2016 Chrysler 200, but was going too fast to safely negotiate a curve. Wuebker lost control and struck a tree with an impact forceful enough to deploy the front and side curtain airbags. She reportedly suffered minor injuries and was transported to St. Anthony Regional Hospital by family members for treatment. There was an estimated $14,000 in damage to the Chrysler and Wuebker was cited for failure to maintain control.
