Jim Ewing, 61, died Friday, December 6, 2019 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, December 13, 2019 at Lampe Funeral Home in Lake City with burial in the Lake City Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 11 a.m. until service time at Lampe Funeral Home.
James Lee Ewing was born on November 29, 1958 in Lake City, Iowa, to Lawrence “Shorty” and Billie (Walker) Ewing. He graduated from Lake City High School in 1977 then completed the Industrial Electronics program at Iowa Central Community College. Jim worked for Watters Appliances in Lake City, Carroll and Pocahontas then owned Jim’s Service Center.
Jim is survived by his sisters Mary Becke of West Des Moines and Carol (Richard) Boger of Ankeny; nieces and nephews Larry Becke, Rob (Patti) Becke, Bob (Jean) Boger, Traci Boger, and Kyra Heithoff; and several great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother David Ewing; sister Kathy Ewing; and brother-in-law Les Becke.
