Grassley Presents 11 More Iowa Veteran Stories To Library Of Congress Project

For the second time, U.S. Senator, Chuck Grassley, has contributed recorded interviews and documents from 11 Iowa veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces to the Library of Congress’ Veterans History Project. Residents at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown were interviewed in November by Grassley staffers and their service to the nation was documented. “These stories will be preserved in the permanent collection of the Library, making accessible the personal accounts of American war veterans so that future generations may hear directly from veterans and better understand the realities of war,” Grassley says. “I want to thank all our veterans who have sacrificed in defense of our freedoms. Their service ensures that all Americans will live in peace and prosperity for generations to come.” The Veterans History Project was established by Congress in 2000, and to date, more than 1,200 stories from Iowans have been recorded. Any Iowa veterans who would like to share their story can get in touch with Grassley’s Veterans Fellow through the contact points included with here. A full listing of the veterans Grassley presented this month can also be found below.
