A Storm Lake man remains in custody at the Sac County jail on a $25,000 cash bond after stabbing a man in Sac City earlier this week. At approximately 11:50 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 23, the Sac City Police Department responded to the 500 block of South 13th Street. Upon arrival, authorities located a 35-year-old man laying on the ground with a stab wound to the side. The suspect, 24-year-old Dalton Goodman was immediately arrested and booked into the Sac County jail. The victim was transported to Loring Hospital and later airlifted to Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City with life-threatening injuries. The victim’s name has not been released, but authorities say he is currently listed in stable condition and recovering. Goodman is charged with attempted murder, a class B felony, which carries a maximum penalty of up to 25 years in prison. His next court appearance is scheduled for Monday, Dec. 31. The Lake View Police Department, Sac County Sheriff’s Office and Sac County Emergency Medical Services assisted at the scene. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
