Snowmobile And Off-Highway Vehicle Registrations Expire Tuesday

There hasn’t been much of a chance to get the snowmobiles out yet this winter, but the Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) wants to remind all snowmobile and off-highway vehicle owners that they still have a couple of days to get their 2020 registrations before their current ones expire on Dec. 31. Any decal displaying a 19 will no longer be valid for machines to be used on trails, public ice or any of the state’s off-highway vehicle parks. For those not meeting the deadline, there will be a $5 penalty applied to registration costs. All permits, which includes resident and nonresident snowmobiles and off-highway vehicles, also expire on Dec. 31. However, there is no late fee for a permit purchased after Jan. 1.
