In her letter, Seidl identified some options available to the board as far as her replacement. Gene Meiners was out sick on Monday, so the board opted to delay that conversation until they were fully represented. Seidl added that a leave of absence was not a viable option with the myriad duties required of each and every person in her office.

The supervisors thanked Seidl for helping them through some very trying times; especially most recently when the driver’s license duties were shifted from the Department of Transportation to the county level at the Treasurer’s Office. Seidl wanted to also stress some specific facts to the board and the public.

She also wanted to make sure that the supervisors understood that because of the complexities of the duties, she believes it to be in their best interest to look to replace her with someone experienced in the day-to-day operations. She also wanted to thank many people.

The supervisors did accept the letter of resignation with deep regrets and the intention of bringing the options back at a later date.
