The Carroll Community School District has issued a statement to all parents and guardians about some vandalism that occurred Sunday night. Superintendent, Dr. Casey Berlau, said in the electronically-delivered message that some time over the course of the night, the card reader located at the entry door to the Carroll Middle School had been destroyed and had to be removed. He assured all that the school is safe and secure and staff are able to grant permission to visitors at the building as usual. The repairs are expected to be completed within a day or two. The incident has been reported to law enforcement and Carroll Broadcasting has reached out to them for more details. As of this airing, however, no response was yet received. If anyone has questions for school officials, they are asked to contact the middle school office at 792-8020 or the district office at 792-8001.
