The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors and Sheriff, Marty Arganbright, will be joined by representatives from Shive-Hattery, architecture and design firm, and the commercial contractors, the Samuels Group, at informational community meetings to discuss the proposed Guthrie County Law Enforcement Center. The first of those is at 7 p.m. tonight (Tuesday), in Menlo. Other meetings across the county have been scheduled through the months of January and February. Two of these, taking place in Guthrie Center, will include a tour of the current jail. Anyone unable to attend but would still like to take a tour can do so by stopping at the jail Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon. The voter referendum of up to $8.7 million dollars for the 14,800-square-foot law enforcement center is set for March 3. The plans are for an initial 28 beds with the capability to add bunks to increase up to an occupancy of 32 individuals. The facility will also feature five classification units and four intake holding cells and will be constructed adjacent to the existing courthouse. A full listing of the dates and locations of upcoming meetings can be found below.
