The Audubon County Sheriff’s Office reports several arrests took place last month. Among those was a male juvenile who was charged with third-degree theft from a motor vehicle and fourth-degree theft. The charges stem from an investigation conducted by the department into the report of a firearm stolen from an Exira vehicle in July of 2019. A search warrant was executed on an Exira property in early December, resulting in a Dec. 23 arrest of 56-year-old Jarold Field Joens for first-offense possession of a controlled substance, marijuana. Another arrest resulted from that search as well. Twenty-six-year-old Robert Paul Joens was charged with two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance—marijuana, second offense, and possession of a controlled substance—methamphetamine, second offense. He was transported to the Audubon County jail and later released on a $3,600 bond.
