Formal charges were filed earlier this week in District Court for Carroll County against a Manning man accused of hunting within city limits. According to court records, 36-year-old Trevor Martin Matheny, faces one count of carrying weapons, an aggravated misdemeanor. The charge stems from an incident on Dec. 21 in which Matheny was taken into custody by the Manning Police Department after he was found in the grass behind several homes on South Elm Street hunting for coyotes. His arraignment hearing is scheduled for Thursday, Jan 23. Matheny is scheduled for trial Tuesday, Jan. 14 on a separate carrying weapons charge from an arrest in Manning July 8, 2019. An aggravated misdemeanor carries a maximum penalty of up to two years in prison and $6,250 in fines.
