In celebration of 2020, Journey Senior Services, a licensed dementia-specific assisted living center on the north side of Carroll, has made a $20,000 pledge to the St. Anthony Cancer Center. Journey’s co-owners, Chad Kanne, Kenny and Nancy Snyder and Matt and Kelly Wendl, say they know the impact of cancer diagnoses in our area. “Our goal at Journey is to provide memory care assistance to people battling the disease of dementia. Although none of our employees or residents are currently battling cancer, we know that will come,” says Nancy Snyder. “It is challenging enough for people with memory loss to go to a doctor’s appointment, but to have to travel to a city two hours away would be daunting.” Snyder adds they are proud to partner with St. Anthony and the cancer center. The $16.5 million, 21,000 square foot facility is being constructed on the St. Anthony campus and is expected to begin receiving patients later this year. The center will feature private treatment and consultation rooms, housing some of the most technologically advanced equipment in the state to serve the residents of the west central Iowa region.
