Greene County Sheriff’s Office Kept Busy Over The Weekend With Motorist Assists

The Greene County Sheriff’s Office was kept busy assisting motorists during and after the winter storm that began Friday. In total, deputies responded to at least 10 separate incidents with the first reports coming in Friday evening. At approximately 5:36 p.m., authorities responded to 220th Street near Orchard Avenue and located a vehicle that had gone into the ditch due to poor road conditions. The second call occurred two hours later near the intersection of 222nd Street and W Avenue. Saturday was the busiest day for deputies with five calls between 6:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., four of which involved vehicles leaving the roadway. The Greene County Sheriff’s Office also assisted three motorists on Sunday. No injuries were reported in any of these incidents.
