Guthrie County supervisors and law enforcement officials along with representatives from the engineering firm and contractor were scheduled to host informational meetings on the upcoming March 3 jail referendum vote over this past weekend. However, the winter storm that blew through beginning on Friday has necessitated a rescheduling of Saturday’s Bayard and Whiterock Conservancy meetings. Both of these will now be held on Saturday, Feb. 1 with the Bayard meeting to begin at 10 a.m. in the Bayard Community Building. Then at 1:30 p.m., they will host constituents at the Whiterock Conservancy Visitor’s Center in Coon Rapids. The proposed 14,800-square-foot Guthrie County Law Enforcement Center will house 28 beds with the capability of expanding to 32 and will include five classification units and four intake holding cells. The estimated $8.7 million building will be located adjacent to the courthouse. A listing of the remaining meetings can be found below.
