One Driver Transported For Treatment Following Accident South Of Lidderdale

One driver was transported for treatment of injuries sustained in a two-vehicle accident Thursday south of Lidderdale. The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office responded to the intersection of Quail Avenue and 170th Street at approximately 4:42 p.m. Sixteen-year-old Maurecia Ann King of Glidden was westbound on 170th Street in a 2010 Chevrolet Traverse. Thirty-nine-year-old William Joseph Grote of Carroll was southbound on Quail Avenue at that time in a 1996 Chevrolet Blazer. Authorities report King went through the stop sign at the intersection and struck the Grote vehicle on the front driver’s side. The impact caused both to enter and come to rest in the southwest ditch. Grote was transported to St. Anthony Regional Hospital by Carroll County Emergency Medical Services for treatment of suspected, non-incapacitating injuries. King reported minor injuries but was not transported for treatment. There was an estimated $6,000 in damage to the Traverse and $5,000 in damage to the Blazer. King was cited for failure to obey a stop sign and yield the right of way.
