Amber Dawn Sauvago, age 31, of Council Bluffs, IA, and formerly of Carroll passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2020 due to injuries suffered in automobile accident near Dunlap, IA.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 1, 2020 with Chaplain Angelo Luis officiating. A reception will follow the service at the funeral home. Born on April 9, 1988 in Carroll, IA, she was the daughter of Shawn Haley and Stacey Sauvago. Amber grew up in Carroll and graduated from Carroll High School in 2006. Following high school she lived in Carroll with her high school sweetheart Kenny Schaefer. She worked at the Carroll Health Center as a CNA and several other jobs including Reiling’s 71South Gas Station for five years. Amber and Kenny moved to Council Bluffs in March of 2019 where she has worked for Target. She enjoyed crafting, pottery, playing video games, and spending time with her family especially her son Kenny Jr. She loved her cat Pumpkin.
Amber is survived by her soulmate Kenny Schaefer and her son Kenny Schaefer Jr. of Council Bluffs; her mother Stacey Sauvago of Carroll; her father Shawn Haley (Shelly) of Milford; two sisters: Mariah Teague (Tanner) of Newton and Jessica Sauvago of Carroll; her brother Noah Sauvago of Carroll; her grandfather Bud Haley of Jefferson; her uncle Sean Sauvago of Carroll; and several other extended family members. Amber was preceded in death by her grandmother Beverly Sauvago.
