The Carroll Community School District is notifying parents and guardians of open enrollment deadlines for the 2020/21 school year. Applications must be received by March 2, however, if the student is entering school for the first time as a kindergartener, the deadline is moved to Sept. 1. Open enrollment applications need to be presented to both the resident and receiving districts and those who are in ninth through 12th grade will not be eligible to participate in varsity contests and competitions during the first 90 days of transfer. Parents and guardians are responsible for transporting children who open enroll to another district. This applies to all students, including those with IEP. However, if a child is open enrolled to a contiguous district and the parent’s income meets the economic eligibility requirements, the family may receive a transportation stipend. Income verification must be provided to the resident district.
