Minor Injuries Reported In Two Accidents Wednesday Evening In Carroll

Only minor injuries were reported following two motor vehicle accidents in Carroll Wednesday evening. Officers with the Carroll Police Department were dispatched to the first incident at approximately 5:16 p.m. in the 800 block of East 8th Street. Authorities say a 2017 Buick Verano, driven by 20-year-old Isaiah Taylor of Audubon, was traveling eastbound on 8th Street. At the same time, a 2004 Jeep Cherokee, driven by 73-year-old Nicola Holmes of Carroll, was attempting to turn from an alleyway and was unable to see the oncoming Buick due to a snow pile. Both vehicles sustained functional damage, and Taylor was transported to St. Anthony Regional Hospital for treatment of suspected minor injuries. Holmes was cited for failure to yield entering a roadway. Taylor was cited for failure to show proof of insurance. The second accident occurred at approximately 6:45 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. Highway 30 and Clark Street. A 2010 Lincoln MKS, driven by 16-year-old Kelsey Truitt of Glidden, was traveling eastbound on 30 and attempted to stop for a red light. Due to road conditions, Truitt was unable to stop and collided with the driver’s side of a northbound 2018 Ford Explorer, driven by 48-year-old Kari Miller of Carroll. Truitt was transported to St. Anthony Regional Hospital by private vehicle with suspected minor injuries. Truitt was cited for failure to maintain control.

Editor’s Note: An accident report from law enforcement had swapped the drivers’ names in one of the above accidents. Authorities have since corrected the report, and the story has been  updated to show Truitt, not Miller, was cited.
