A rural Jefferson home was severely damaged following a fire Thursday afternoon. At approximately 1:29 p.m., the Jefferson and Scranton Fire Departments, Greene County Sheriff’s Office and Greene County Emergency Medical Services responded to a residence in the 1100 block of L Avenue about three miles northwest of town. According to authorities, no injuries were reported as the home was vacant at the time, but the blaze caused extensive damage to the structure.
