Ron Morlok Named Carroll Chamber Of Commerce 2019 Humanitarian Of The Year

Carroll area businesses and residents have proven time and again their overwhelming generosity when giving back to the community, and one of the awards presented at last week’s Carroll Chamber of Commerce Banquet, the Humanitarian of the Year, was created to recognize an individual who personifies this attribute of the region. Some of the most recent honorees include Sara Anderson, Kristen Lundstrom and Rebecca Windschitl. Sondra Rierson of Adaptive Audiology Solutions presented the 2019 Humanitarian of the Year award and referred to this year’s recipient as “Captain America” while giving hints to their identity.

This individual is also very active within St. John Paul II parish at St. Lawrence and holds a Master Gardener designation from ISU Extension and Outreach. Rierson says he also contributes a substantial amount of time to the local Lions Club

Rierson then revealed this year’s recipient was Ron Morlok. Morlok addressed the crowd briefly after accepting the award.

Other winners from the Jan. 27 banquet include: Austin Scott of Fusebox Marketing, New Business of the Year; Bruner, Bruner, Reinhart and Morton Law Firm, Heritage Business; Carroll Public Library, Public Service; John and Kate Strautman, Good Neighbor; and Doug Burns of the Carroll Times Herald, Citizen of the Year.
