Carroll Man Arrested Thursday On Outstanding Warrant For Controlled Substance Violation

A Carroll man was taken into custody last week by the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office on an outstanding arrest warrant for a felony drug charge. According to Carroll County District Court records, 52-year-old Dean Martin Loew was arrested Thursday and transported to the Carroll County jail, where he was charged with a controlled substance violation, a class C felony. Law enforcement alleges Loew knowingly entered into an agreement on July 23, 2019 to deliver under five grams of methamphetamine to another individual. He remains in custody on a $10,000 surety bond with his next court appearance scheduled for Feb. 13. A class C felony carries a maximum penalty of up to 10 years in prison and $10,000 in fines. Loew may face harsher penalties due to multiple prior convictions, including a controlled substance violation, possession of a controlled substance, harassment, assault and theft.
