Carroll Police officers freed a woman locked in the basement of her home and have taken a Carroll man into custody for false imprisonment. Chief Brad Burke reports they received a call at approximately 8:01 a.m. Monday morning from a subject who had been contacted by a female who said she had been locked in the basement of her residence in the 800 block of N. East Street. It was also reported to police that the woman shared the home with other tenants. When the officers were able to gain entry to the house, they found that the other tenants had screwed the basement door shut with the woman trapped downstairs. Twenty-two-year-old Jonah Scott Burns was arrested on the serious misdemeanor charge.
