Hunter Education Classes Scheduled For March And April

There are still spaces available in upcoming hunter education classroom courses through the Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR). Iowa law requires anyone born after Jan. 1, 1972 be certified in hunter education before they will be deemed eligible to purchase an Iowa hunting license. The classes are led by certified volunteer instructions and DNR Conservation Officers and are typically 12 to 15 hours in length over two to three sessions. Attendees must pass a final exam to receive certification. Classes in the Carroll Broadcasting listening area are: March 3 in Jefferson at the Milwaukee Road Depot; March 7 at the Pin Oak Lodge in Chariton; and April 1 in Exira at the Audubon County Conservation Board building.
