Cause Of Death In Lake View Investigation Still Unknown, But Victim Has Been Identified

Lake View Chief of Police, Royce Kemmann, says they were called to a home in the 100 block of Blossom Street at approximately 6 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18 on a report of a possibly deceased male subject. The subject was pronounced dead at the scene, but as of this airing, Kemmann says the cause of death is still undetermined.

However, Kemmann says this is being treated as a suspicious death and they have now released details on the man’s identity.

The 43-year-old Cooper was visiting at a residence on that block. Kemmann adds there were no witnesses to the death and investigators are still unsure of exactly what transpired. The Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) and the Lake View Police Department are continuing the investigation but continue to stress that there is no danger to the public at large. Kemmann says they will be releasing more details on the investigation following the autopsy results from the Iowa Office of the State Medical Examiner.
