Kuemper Vs Panorama At Harlan- Class 2A District 15
Panorama 82
Kuemper 70
The first half was tight with 5 lead changes and 7 ties but the 2nd half slipped away from the Knights. Kuemper led 21-14 midway through the 2nd quarter but the Panthers went on a 15-6 run to grab the lead and they never relinquished it the rest of the game. Kuemper did tie the game at 29, 31, 33 and a big 3 from Kyle Feauto at the 1st half buzzer tied the game at 36. Feauto and Tre Knobbe had solid 1st halves and kept the Knights in the game as the Panthers really focused on shutting down Kyle Berg and Cole Collison. Collison had 8 at half and Berg had 5 but they weren’t the factors inside they had been in previous playoff games. The game turned against Kuemper early in the 3rd when Kyle Berg picked up a foul and a technical giving him four fouls for the game. Malachi Peasley went to the line and hit all 4 free throws and Panorama went from up 3 to up 7. Kuemper responded with a nice run and trimmed it to 45-43 but the Panthers scored 9 of the next 11 points and got up 9. The closest Kuemper would get after that was 7. Peasley hit a bunch of free throws down the stretch and finished with a game high 34 points and was 12-14 from the line while Panorama hit 24-28 as a team from the line. Kyle Berg came back in to start the 4th and ended up leading the team with 17 points and 8 rebounds. Tre Knobbe finished with 13 points and 6 rebounds. John Mayhall added 12 points and Collison and Feauto each had 10. The loss ends the Kuemper season at 8-15.
