Arrest Warrants Issued For Iowa City Man Following Investigation Into Jefferson Burglary

The Jefferson Police Department has requested arrest warrants for an Iowa City man following their investigation into a burglary last week. Authorities allege 36-year-old Dustin William Winchester entered Countywide Electric Service in the 400 block of East Central Avenue during the early morning of Feb. 27 and stole office computers, power tools and other miscellaneous items. According to the Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office, Winchester is believed to have also committed burglaries in Guthrie Center that same evening and had contact with a deputy during a traffic stop. Law enforcement says his clothing and physical appearance matched the individual identified by security cameras at Countywide Electric Service. Winchester is charged in District Court for Greene County with second-offense vehicular burglary, third-degree burglary and second-degree theft, class D felonies. Additional charges are pending in Guthrie County District Court.
