Local Law Enforcement Investigating At Least Eight Reports Of Vandalism Since Sunday

Local authorities are seeking the public’s help in identifying the individual or individuals behind a recent string of vandalisms in Carroll and at Swan Lake State Park. According to Carroll Police Chief, Brad Burke, they have identified at least seven instances at multiple city parks. Burke says the vandalism appears to be related due to the similar appearance of the spray-painted markings on public buildings and playground equipment. Authorities believe the first instance of vandalism occurred Sunday evening and again sometime Monday night. Swan Lake State Park was also impacted with a series of graffiti reported Sunday night with damage to roads, the Sauk Rail Trail, signs and benches throughout the park. The vandalism reported at Swan Lake was more vulgar in nature. Anyone with information regarding these incidents is asked to contact the Carroll Police Department at 792-3536, Carroll County Sheriff’s Office at 792-4393 or Carroll County Conservation at 792-4614. Photos of some of the vandalism can be found included with this story on our website. City and county officials hope to have the graffiti removed as soon as possible.
