Voters In Guthrie, Audubon, Carroll And Greene Counties Approve Two Out Of Three Bond Referendums Tuesday

Two out of three local bond referendums were approved by voters yesterday (Tuesday). Voters in the Audubon Community School District authorized the issuance of $7.5 million in General Obligation bonds to finance much-needed improvements, repairs and security measures at the high school with 69.5 percent of the 390 votes cast in favor of the project. Guthrie County voters overwhelmingly supported a new $8.7 million law enforcement center in Guthrie Center. Of the 2,067 votes tallied, 1,666, or 80.6 percent, voted yes. The final bond referendum, this one in the Coon Rapids-Bayard Community School District for $3 million, had 239 of the 414 ballots cast in the affirmative, ending up just over two percent short of the required 60-percent supermajority. All results are unofficial until canvassed by their respective county’s board of supervisors. Carroll Broadcasting will bring you more on these elections and what comes next for each of the projects in upcoming newscasts.
