Authorities say the fleeing vehicle eventually crashed into the Racoon River near 130th Street and Voyager Avenue. A female suspect, identified as 25-year-old Dakota Lynn Blum of Lake View, was taken into custody immediately and transported to the Sac County jail. She was booked for interference with official acts, a simple misdemeanor. Law enforcement located narcotics on her person during the booking process, and she has also been charged with introducing intoxicants into an institution, a class D felony. A male fled on foot and remained at-large until approximately 5 a.m. The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office and their drone and K9 Petey from the Sac County Sheriff’s Office assisted during the search. The suspect, identified as 36-year-old Craig Van Osdol of Sac City, was located by the drone and arrested. Van Osdol was transported to the Sac County jail on charges of eluding at speeds 25 mph over the limit, an aggravated misdemeanor, and driving while license revoked, a serious misdemeanor. In total, five local law enforcement agencies assisted during the pursuit and subsequent search, and Rist offered his thanks for their quick responses.
