Area businesses are being encouraged to fill out a short survey to assist the Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA) in understanding the impact of the coronavirus and in developing a potential aid package. According to Carroll Chamber of Commerce Executive Director, Shannon Landauer, it is critical for local businesses from a variety of industries to fill out a survey.

The survey is estimated to take between five and seven minutes to complete, and Landauer says most of the questions will ask participants to compare the current economic environment to before the State of Public Health Disaster Emergency went into effect at noon on Tuesday.

Landauer says circumstances are changing regularly and the uncertainty caused by this will likely negatively impact many companies, particularly smaller ones. She notes there are ways for people to support their favorite local stores and restaurants while still complying with guidelines from federal, state and local health officials.

According to the IEDA, there is no foreseeable risk to participating in the study and responses will be kept confidential and private. The deadline for submissions is Monday, March 23 at 5 p.m. A link to the survey can be found included with this story on our website.
