The Carroll Community School District (CCSD) Board of Education has scheduled a special meeting for tomorrow (Thursday) to consider a resolution regarding staff pay during the closure caused by the coronavirus. There are no other items on the agenda, and school officials expect the meeting to only last about 15 minutes. The pay issue was touched on briefly during the Monday, March 16 meeting. Several board members indicated they would support payment to hourly staff, including bus drivers, food service workers, custodians and more; however, no formal action was taken at that time. The special session begins at 12 p.m. in the Adams Elementary School board conference room. Board members will have the option to participate via phone or other technological means as part of their effort to comply with recommendations from federal, state and local health officials to avoid gatherings of more than 10 people. The agenda can be found included with this story on our website.
