The Carroll Community School District (CCSD) Board of Education voted unanimously during their special meeting Thursday to continue paying salaried and hourly employees while the school is closed during the coronavirus outbreak. All board members were in attendance with Onica Ulveling participating via phone. Superintendent, Dr. Casey Berlau, and Jen Munson explain the details of this resolution.
Each employee’s pay will be based on their existing contract for the fiscal year. According to Berlau, nearly all the district’s buildings will be locked and closed to the public, including for staff. He notes some employees with prior authorization will continue working on a limited basis.
Berlau adds that other employees will be working from home whenever possible.
This resolution will be in effect through mid-April. However, the board will need to reconvene if the shutdown continues for longer than expected. A copy of the resolution and full audio from the meeting can be found included below this story.
