Iowa DNR Dispels Rumors Circulating On Regulations, Seasons And Cost Of Licenses

State authorities are again urging residents to ensure they are getting their information from the appropriate sources during the Covid-19 pandemic. This not only applies to health-related news and instruction, but also for all other rules and regulations. The Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is dispelling rumors that have been widespread on social media channels that they will be eliminating hunting and fishing seasons, relaxing regulations or changing license prices. “Fishing and hunting regulations exist to protect human safety as well as wildlife populations over the long-term,” says Conservation and Recreation Division Administrator, Dale Garner. “We balance the long-term sustainability of Iowa’s natural resources with the well-being of Iowans and will continue to take a thoughtful, science-based approach to Iowa’s hunting and fishing laws.” That said, none of the regulations, seasons or prices have been impacted by the Covid-19 virus.
