The Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) reports 34 additional cases of COVID-19 were confirmed this (Thursday) morning. With these new numbers, the state’s total has now reached 179. Johnson and Polk Counties remain the hot spots in Iowa with 49 and 24 cases, respectively. As of March 26, 37 of the state’s 99 counties have reported at least one case. Carroll County remains at one. On Tuesday evening, Gov. Kim Reynolds announced the first Iowa death linked to the coronavirus had been confirmed in Dubuque County.
