COVID-19 Cases In Iowa Now Total 614; Two Additional Deaths Reported

The Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) reports 66 additional cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in the state this (Thursday) morning, pushing the state’s total to 614. The total number of Iowa coronavirus-related deaths grew to 11 following the deaths of two Linn County residents Wednesday. Both individuals were older adults between 61 and 80 years of age. Sixty-three of Iowa’s 99 counties have recorded at least one COVID-19 case as of April 2. Bremer, Delaware and Jefferson Counties are the most recent additions to the list. As for the listening area, local case numbers are unchanged from Wednesday. Carroll, Crawford, Audubon and Guthrie Counties have each recorded one case since the pandemic began. Shelby County’s numbers are also unchanged with three. To date, 8,054 negative tests have been conducted by the State Hygienic Laboratory and other labs.
